Diamonds & Rust by Joan Baez
About the album Diamonds & Rust
In 1975, Joan Baez was 34 years old. Her - anyway - crystal voice was at its best, and the great performer recorded in January one of the finest albums of her long career, Diamonds & Rust. This album is rightfully counted among the best folk rock albums of all time as it is a quintessential example of what folk rock means.
The album begins with the title track, which is her own composition and is probably written about Bob Dylan, and concludes with Medley: I Dream Of Jeannie Danny Boy. In between are songs by Bob Dylan (Simple Twist Of Fate), Jackson Browne (Fountain Of Sorrow), Stevie Wonder (Never Dreamed You'd Leave In Summer) and many others.
Diamonds & Rust reached No.11 on Billboard and went gold, selling 500,000 copies in the United States.
