Naturally by JJ Cale
About the album Naturally
Naturally is the iconic debut album by JJ Cale, which laid the foundations for his distinctive sound and influenced legends such as Eric Clapton and Mark Knopfler.
The recording of Naturally took place between September 1970 and June 1971 at Bradley's Barn and Moss Rose studio in Tennessee. The album includes twelve tracks, many of which became global hits, either by Cale himself or through covers. All the songs were written by JJ Cale himself. Standout tracks include After Midnight, which was the album's biggest hit and became famous by Eric Clapton even before the album's release (!), Call Me The Breeze, later made a classic rock piece by Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Crazy Mama, which entered the Top 40 in the US reaching No. 22 on the Billboard.
Naturally is considered a landmark for JJ Cale and music, as it introduced an entirely new, timeless sound that avoided the commercial trends of the era and influenced generations of musicians.
