Sweet Baby James by James Taylor
About the album Sweet Baby James
In February 1970, James Taylor will release his second studio album. Sweet Baby James was recorded at Sunset Sound Recorders in Los Angeles in December 1969, with Peter Asher overseeing its production. Sweet Baby James is primarily a folk rock album with quite a few blues elements, which will elevate James Taylor with its eleven songs as one of the most important songwriters of his generation. During the recording and creation period of the album, James Taylor was essentially homeless and broke. During that time, he was either staying at Peter Asher's house (!) or sleeping wherever else he could find.
Two singles, or rather two songs, were released as singles prior to the album's release, which set the stage for the album's reception—Sweet Baby James and Fire And Rain. Country Road was the third single from Sweet Baby James.
Sales of the album exceeded 3,000,000 in the United States.
