Peace by Eurythmics
About the album Peace
The reason for writing the ninth album of Eurythmics was a joint appearance of Lennox and Stewart at a party of their company RCA, where they performed some of their songs live. It was there that the idea to record together again was born. The result of this impulse was presented the following year, in 1999, and was titled Peace.
Another reason for creating Peace was their shared concern for the future of the world and the planet, which is why songs like I Saved The World Today, the album's first single, or Peace Is Just a Word, which was the third single, emerged.
To great surprise, the album reached No.4 in Great Britain despite the fact that Eurythmics had a ten-year recording absence, while its sales have surpassed 1,600,000 copies, making it the fourth studio album of the duo in terms of commercial impact throughout their career. Peace is one of the most mature albums of Eurythmics.
