Be Yourself Tonight by Eurythmics
About the album Be Yourself Tonight
From the early '80s, the Eurythmics released albums that all had something to say to the music-loving pop/rock audience of that era, as their work is fully in harmony with the then synth-pop trends in music. Thus, with 1985's Be Yourself Tonight, which would be the fourth studio album from the UK duo, they reached the highest point of their career until then.
The album was characterized by its freshness, but also by the fact that they shed some dark points that existed in the compositions of their previous records. Additionally, on Be Yourself, there is the duet with Aretha Franklin on Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves, which would only be beneficial to the careers of both parties. The producer of the album was the other Eurythmic, Dave Stewart.
The success of the album was extremely significant at the time of its release, as it reached the Top-10 of eleven countries, sold 1,000,000 copies in the US, became double platinum in the UK with 300,000 copies, and the single There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) reached No.1 in their homeland. It would become the one and only single in their career to reach the top.
