About the album La Era de La Boludez
In 1993, Divididos released their third studio album titled La Era de La Boludez, creating a sensation in the rock community of Argentina. The album La Era De La Boludez is now considered the masterpiece of Divididos and one of the most important albums of Argentine rock. The title of the album ("The Age of Foolishness") serves as an ironic criticism of the conformity and superficiality of Argentine society in the 1990s.
The album combines alternative rock, hard rock, and funk metal with strong elements of traditional Argentine music. Thanks to Gustavo Santaolalla's production, the band managed to blend "modern" sounds with local instruments like the charango, creating a fresh and timeless result. It was recorded in June and July of 1993. The recordings took place in the United States, specifically at the Can-Am and Devonshire studios in Los Angeles.
La Era De La Boludez is the band's most commercial album, with sales exceeding 480,000 copies. It includes some of their biggest hits, such as ¿Qué ves? and El Arriero.
