Construction Time Again  by Depeche Mode

Construction Time Again from 1983 remains a landmark in the history of Depeche Mode and in the history of synth-pop as the album that contains Everything Counts, one of the most well-known and beloved songs of Depeche Mode, which has been an integral part of the band's concerts for years. Other than that, the third studio album from the Essex group, both in its sound and its final result, moves in the same framework as the previous album. The difference - perhaps - lies in the lyrics as Gore had encountered the poverty that existed in Thailand on a trip he made there, which influenced him to write lyrics with social concern.

In Construction Time Again, Alan Wilder has taken his position as a regular member of the band, and now Depeche Mode is a quartet. In fact, the newcomer signs two compositions by himself. These are the songs Two Minute Warning and The Landscape Is Changing. All the rest are compositions by Martin Gore.

The production again belongs to the band members and Daniel Miller. This time, the audience's response held a big surprise as Depeche Mode sold more copies in Germany than in their own country. Sales in Germany reached 250,000 and in Britain "only" 100,000.
