Kaya by Bob Marley & The Wailers
About the album Kaya
The tenth studio album of Bob Marley and the Wailers was released in 1978 titled Kaya and comes to confirm that Bob Marley and his group are in a creative frenzy from which masterpieces and classic albums and songs of reggae music emerge.
The songs that made up Kaya were ready from the previous year. They were among the songs recorded from January to April 1977. Some of them created the 1977 album Exodus and some of them waited a year to be released under the title Kaya. The songs Kaya, Sun Is Shining, and Satisfy My Soul (as Don't Rock My Boat) were presented in another performance on the 1971 album Soul Revolution Part II, but here we hear them in a re-recording.
Kaya reached No. 4 on the UK charts, while the 500,000 copies sold in the United States of America was a large number, considering that only a few years ago, Bob Marley and the Wailers were known only in Jamaica.
