About the album Still Bill
With his second album, Still Bill, Bill Withers propels his career to new heights. The two singles Use Me and Lean On Me would continue to be heard in the following decades.
In the album, blues, funk, soul, and rhythm 'n' blues are combined and balanced in a magical way. Nothing the listener hears is superfluous. Everything is in the right place and the right proportion. Still Bill is a top soul album of the first half of the 1970s.
The truth is that Bill Withers couldn't reach the perfection of this album again. In the USA, it reached No. 4 on the Billboard chart and No. 1 on the soul albums chart.
