About the album Sign In Please
Among the many bands of the glam metal scene that emerged in the early '80s in Los Angeles were Autograph. Sign In Please, released in 1984, becomes the first album of the band Autograph. The production of the album belongs to the English producer Neil Kernon.
The recordings of the album took place at RCA Records studios under time pressure. According to guitarist Steve Lynn, the album was ready within 30 days. The great success of the band that emerged from Sign In Please was Turn Up The Radio, a song that was destined to characterize the entire course of the group.
Sign In Please reached No. 29 on the Billboard and its sales in the U.S. exceeded 500,000 copies. The success of the first album opened doors for Autograph to play with other bands of the same scene, bands like Motley Crue and Van Halen. Also, several songs from the album were heard in the youth film "Secret Admirer" of 1985 by director and producer David Greenwalt.
