Back To Black was a soul-bearing work by Winehouse; her second album contained in song form all that she felt and experienced from her breakup with her then-partner, Blake Fielder-Civil.

Amy Winehouse, heavily influenced by the girl groups of the 1960s, records the eleven tracks of Back To Black and offers a completely refreshing approach to soul music. Most of the compositions are her personal endeavor. A major protagonist in the album's success is also its producer, Mark Ronson, who manages to revive the spirit of the '60s. The album's title track emerged a few hours after Ronson had met Winehouse.
