About the album Jagged Little Pill

The Canadian-American Alanis Morissette in June 1995 turns 21 and celebrates with the release of her third studio album (!) Jagged Little Pill, and its release in the mid-1990s turned the spotlight on this young woman, who impressed with her voice, as well as her compositions since she participates in every composition of her album.

Jagged Little Pill is an album full of alternative rock songs with a pop orientation. Glen Ballard was the producer of the album, but also the second composer of the songs on the album. The creation of the album began in Ballard's personal studio, where they prepared a demo with the songs. Each song was written in a day. Morissette sang and played harmonica, and Ballard handled the guitars, keyboards, and a drum machine. They then entered a professional studio and conducted the official recording. Morissette's voice that we hear comes from the demo recordings. The singles that stood out the most from the six that emerged from the album were You Oughta Know and Ironic.

Jagged Little Pill was one of the biggest commercial successes of its year, as well as of the entire 1990s. It managed to enter the Top-10 of many countries, often reaching No.1. The global sales of the album have exceeded 33,000,000 copies (!) No other Alanis Morissette album was able to repeat this commercial triumph.
