Hunting High And Low by A-ha
About the album Hunting High And Low
A-ha was formed in Oslo, Norway in 1982. Influenced by the synth-pop music prevalent at the time in the United States and especially in Great Britain, they moved to London and recorded their first album titled Hunting High And Low, which would be released in 1985.
The first single they released was for the song Take On Me, which did not make an impression. A little later there was a different re-recording, to be included on the album, but again it failed to attract interest. The song had to become a hit in the United States for people to start paying attention to these three talented Norwegians. And of course, everything changed when The Sun Always Shines on T.V. was released as a single, marking the true beginning of their career's rise. Most of the compositions belong to the band's guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy.
Hunting High And Low released five singles and the album's total sales have now reached 10,000,000 copies worldwide, making it one of the most significant synth-pop albums of the '80s.
