East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon by A-ha
About the album East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon
East Of The Sun, West Of The Moon is the name of the fourth album by the Norwegian band A-ha, and this phrase that named the album comes from a Norwegian fairy tale.
In 1990, after three synth-pop albums that made A-ha superstars, the three Norwegians shifted their career and followed less digestible musical paths. In this album, the synths are limited and more "rock" instruments make their sonic appearance. The change is apparent from the cover itself, where the three members of the group adopt a more rock appearance.
The album reached No.1 in Norway, where it sold 125,000 copies, while 250,000 Germans added it to their record collection. In the UK, it reached No.12 on the charts.
