UGK (Underground Kingz) was a legendary hip hop duo from Port Arthur, Texas, consisting of Bun B (Bernard Freeman) and Pimp C (Chad Butler). They formed in 1987 and contributed to shaping Southern hip hop with their distinctive sound, combining music from the Southern region of the U.S. with soul and funk influences. Their album "Ridin' Dirty" is considered a classic work of hip hop music. Despite difficulties, such as Pimp C's imprisonment, UGK continued to have successes and reunited in 2007 for the release of the self-titled album "Underground Kingz". However, in 2007, Pimp C suddenly passed away.
