The Style Council
Group
The Style Council was a British musical group formed in 1983 by singer and guitarist Paul Weller, after his previous group, the Jam, disbanded. The band combined various musical genres, such as jazz, soul, pop, and new wave, creating a sophisticated sound that stood out in the 1980s. Paul Weller wrote most of the songs, while keyboardist Mick Talbot played a crucial role in shaping their music. The Style Council achieved great success with tracks like "Shout to the Top" and "You're the Best Thing." The band disbanded in 1989 but remains significant for its influence on the music scene of the time.
