The Stooges
The Stooges are an American rock band formed in 1967 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Led by the charismatic singer Iggy Pop (James Newell Osterberg Jr.), the band's members also included guitarist Ron Asheton, bassist Dave Alexander, and drummer Scott Asheton. The Stooges are considered pioneers of garage rock and proto-punk, with their music combining hard rhythmic lines, raw guitars, and intense energy. Although they initially did not achieve great commercial success, their influence was crucial for the development of the punk rock scene. Their raw and aggressive approach later attracted a devoted audience, and their records, such as "The Stooges" (1969) and "Fun House" (1970), are now considered classic examples of the genre.
