The Sound

Group

The Sound was a British post-punk band formed in South London in 1979. The central figure of the band was the singer and guitarist Adrian Borland, who had a decisive role in the band's musical direction. The Sound was known for the intense emotional charge and dynamism of their songs, as well as their intense live performances. Although they never achieved commercial success, they influence the music scene and remain respected in the post-punk circle. With discography works like "From the Lions Mouth" and "Jeopardy," the Sound gained a loyal audience and were considered by many as one of the most underrated bands of their time. Their career was cut short in 1988, amid issues with Borland's mental health, who eventually passed away in 1999.
