Pixies

The Pixies are an American rock band that was formed in Boston in 1986. Their original lineup consisted of Black Francis (vocals, guitar), Joey Santiago (guitar), Kim Deal (bass, vocals), and David Lovering (drums). The Pixies stood out for their pioneering sound that combines elements of alternative rock, punk, and surf music. Their first album "Surfer Rosa" was released in 1988 and received a warm reception. Their influences are evident in many bands that followed, and they are considered pioneers in the alternative rock movement that developed in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Despite their breakup in 1993, the band reunited in 2004 and continues to perform to this day.
