Otis Redding
Otis Redding was an American soul music singer and songwriter, born on September 9, 1941, in Dawson, Georgia. He is considered one of the greatest singers in the history of American music. His recording career began in the early 1960s, but his real success came with the song "Respect" and later with "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay". Otis Redding was known for his powerful voice and his ability to combine emotional expression with musical authenticity. Unfortunately, his career was cut short when he was killed in a plane crash on December 10, 1967, at the age of just 26. Nevertheless, his influence on later soul, R&B, and pop artists is immense.
