Donald Fagen is an American musician, known as the co-founder and singer of the legendary band Steely Dan. Born on January 10, 1948, in Passaic, New Jersey, Fagen developed an early interest in music. He studied at Bard College, where he met his future collaborator, Walter Becker. Together they created the unique sound identities of the band, combining jazz, rock, funk, and pop. Fagen stood out for the intelligence and sarcasm of his lyrics as well as the complexity of his compositions. In addition to his collaboration with Steely Dan, Fagen also pursued a solo career, releasing successful albums, with "The Nightfly" considered one of his best works.
