Cathedral was a doom metal band formed in Coventry, England in 1989. Founding members of the band were Lee Dorrian and Mark Griffiths, and shortly after, Garry Jennings joined the band. Their first album was Forest of Equilibrium in 1991, followed by The Ethereal Mirror in 1993. Cathedral continued to release records until 2013. There were many changes in the band's lineup until they disbanded in 2013. Cathedral continue to be held in high regard among fans of the doom metal scene and now constitute a legend in this particular subgenre of heavy metal.
