Bobby Womack was an American singer, songwriter, and musician of soul music. Born on March 4, 1944, in Cleveland, Ohio, Womack began his career as a member of the band The Valentinos while also working as a guitarist for Sam Cooke. During his fifty-year career, he wrote and released successful songs such as "Across 110th Street" and "If You Think You're Lonely Now". Additionally, his musical influence was shaped through genres such as R&B, gospel, rock, and funk. Womack was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009, recognized for his significant impact on the music industry. He passed away on June 27, 2014.
