About the album Velvet Underground & Nico

The Velvet Underground with their self-titled debut in 1967 could not have imagined how influential this album would be in shaping how those who would go on to play and record pop & rock music would perceive music.

The lyrics of the songs and their themes (sadomasochism, prostitution, drugs, etc.) shocked even more those who listened to and absorbed the album.

In reality, with this particular album, something happens that is - probably - unique or at least very rare. The cover for the general public is more famous than the content of the record itself, namely the songs. It was an artistic work by Andy Warhol.
