Velvet Underground
Group
The Velvet Underground was a pioneering rock band formed in New York City in 1964. Their original lineup included Lou Reed, John Cale, Sterling Morrison, and Maureen Tucker. They are recognized as one of the most influential bands in the history of music, combining rock, art, and experimental sounds. Their work was closely associated with artist Andy Warhol, who was a major supporter and producer of their first album "The Velvet Underground & Nico" (1967). Despite initial commercial failure, their work gained artistic recognition and influenced countless artists and music genres.
