About the album Missing...Presumed Having A Good Time
Missing...Presumed Having A Good Time was the debut and only album by the Notting Hillbillies, released in March 1990. The Notting Hillbillies were a group of four British musicians and one American, who wanted to capture their love for country rock music and blues. The most well-known name in the group was that of Mark Knopfler from Dire Straits.
The recordings for the album began in 1989 and were completed in early 1990. The album contains eleven songs. Most are covers of traditional songs or songs by others, but there are also some that were written for the record's needs. The production of Missing...Presumed Having A Good Time was by Mark Knopfler and his partner from Dire Straits, and also a member of the Notting Hillbillies, Guy Fletcher.
The singles from the album were Your Own Sweet Way, Feel Like Going Home, and Will You Miss Me. The album reached No. 2 in the United Kingdom and No. 52 on the Billboard. The Notting Hillbillies have reunited several times to perform for charity purposes.
