About the album If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears
The Californians The Mama's and The Papa's presented in 1966 one of the most beautiful debuts of the 1960s. Despite the young age of the band's four members, the compositions maintain an excellent balance between folk rock, pop, rock, and even soul music.
The songs that stood out from the album were Monday, Monday and California Dreamin', one of the most iconic songs of the entire 1960s. The album contained twelve songs. Five were covers and seven were mainly compositions by John Phillips. The producer of the album was Lou Adler. As strange as it may sound, the album cover had to be changed because the image of the toilet bowl was considered improper and offensive. Before the replacement could be made, quite a few records were sold with this cover, which are now worth over 300 US dollars (!)
If You Can Believe Your Eyes And Ears reached the top of the Billboard.
