About the album Keep On Your Mean Side
The American singer Alison Mosshart and the English guitarist-multi-instrumentalist Jamie Hince meet in England when Mosshart's previous band was touring in England, and after their acquaintance, they create The Kills. Keep On Your Mean Side in 2004 is the first LP of the garage duo, as it was preceded by the Black Rooster EP the previous year.
Keep On Your Mean Side won over the audience with its rough and raw sound. One of the reasons for this roughness that characterizes every composition of the album is its recording at the analog Toe Rag Studios in London, while the absence of bass is noticeable since the rhythm in the songs is taken over by a drum machine. The singles Fuck The People, Fried My Little Brains, and Pull A U stood out from the album. Impressively, several songs from the album were used in movies, series, and documentaries.
The first album of The Kills reached No. 47 in the United Kingdom.
