About the album The Black And White Album
Randy Fitzsimmons, that is, guitarist Niklas Almqvist of the Swedish band Hives, composes almost all the songs of the band's fourth album, titled The Black And White Album, which will become one of the best examples of the garage rock revival scene in the mid-first decade of the 21st century.
The Hives wrote over twenty songs to narrow them down to fourteen, which made up the entirety of The Black And White Album. Many were involved in the production of the album beyond the members of the Hives. An interesting presence in the production of two songs is that of the American Pharrell Williams, who was responsible for the final outcome of the songs Well All Right! and T.H.E.H.I.V.E.S., which was the second single from the album, while the first single released was Tick Tick Boom.
The Black And White Album managed to enter the Top-40 in many European countries. The highest position it recorded was No.4 in Sweden - as expected - but it cannot be ignored for a band from Fagersta, a town in central Sweden with 11,000 residents (!) to have also reached No.29 in the United Kingdom and No.65 on the Billboard.
