About the album Lysergic Emanations
Lysergic Emanations is the iconic debut album of The Fuzztones, which was released in 1985 and is considered one of the cornerstones of the '60s garage rock revival. The band adopted a "dark" and psychedelic aesthetic, influenced by the B-movie horror films of the '50s and '60s, with trademark Vox Phantom guitars and the sound of the Vox organ playing pure Garage Rock Revival with strong elements of Psych-rock and Acid Punk.
The album was recorded in 1984-1985. According to testimonies and reports, the recording took place in a basement in Danbury, Connecticut. She's Wicked and Ward 81 are the "trademarks" of Rudi Protrudi from this album. On the other hand, the album heavily relies on "tweaked" covers of forgotten garage hits of the '60s, with the most well-known being the renditions of Strychnine and Cinderella by the Sonics.
The album did not have any commercial impact. However, it is a cult specimen of a mid-'80s record.
