About the album Come With Us

Come With Us was released on January 28, 2002, and is the fourth studio album by The Chemical Brothers, marking an era where the duo of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons dominated the global electronic scene. The album follows the familiar paths of Electronica, Big Beat, and Breakbeat. Although it retains the "rave" energy of its predecessors, it presents a more psychedelic and melodic character, combining hard rhythms with dreamy vocals. The production was signed by the Chemical Brothers themselves.

The recording of Come With Us took place between 2000 and 2001 at Miloco Studios in South London. The duo used the studio as their "second home," often working in the basement for the editing of the tracks. The album includes some of the band's most iconic moments: It Began In Afrika, the first single (September 2001), a percussive anthem that conquered the clubs; Star Guitar, released in January 2002, accompanied by Michel Gondry's legendary video; Come with Us / The Test, a double A-side single (April 2002), featuring Richard Ashcroft (The Verve) on The Test. Aside from Ashcroft, Beth Orton also participates in the album on the track The State We're In.

The album was a huge commercial success. It debuted at No.1 on the UK Albums Chart, making it the third consecutive album by The Chemical Brothers to reach the top. The album went gold in the United Kingdom just a few days after its release. In the USA, it sold 30,000 copies in the first week, while its total sales are estimated to be in the hundreds of thousands worldwide (approximately 292,500 according to 2002 records).
