About the album Decksandrumsandrockandroll

In early 1998, the Propellerheads released the one and only LP of their career. Decksandrumsandrockandroll is an album that aptly represented the branch of dance music known as big beat.

Most of the compositions belong to Alex Gifford, who is one of the two members that made up the Propellerheads duo. The other member of the group was Will White. The production of the album is the work of both. Five tracks stood out as singles from the album. The first was Take California, which also opened the record. However, its major success was the third single, History Repeating, which features one of the least expected collaborations in the entire history of pop & rock music. Shirley Bassey uniquely interprets the lyrics of History Repeating, and the song becomes one of the biggest dance hits in the late 1990s. The album's release in Japan included a bonus CD with five additional songs.

Decksandrumsandrockandroll managed to reach No. 6 in the UK and sell close to 100,000 copies. The Propellerheads did not have the same luck in the USA, as their album reached No. 100 on the Billboard.
