About the album The Long Play
The German Sandra (Ann Lauer) made her recording debut in 1985 with The Long Play – one of the best examples of europop – and immediately gained recognition in the pop scene.
The album included the single Maria Magdalena, which reached No.1 in 21 countries (!) and pushed the album to achieve high positions in almost all European countries. In Greece – for instance – it sold 100,000 copies.
In the production of The Long Play and the composition of most of the songs was Michel Cretu – Sandra's future husband.
