Look Sharp!  by Roxette

In 1988, the duo of Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson from Sweden would achieve the success of their lives with Look Sharp!, the second album of their joint journey as Roxette. Their album Look Sharp! is a sample of pop music, which is interspersed with rock accents here and there.

The album was recorded between March and September 1988 in Stockholm and London. The producer of the album was the Swede Clarence Öfwerman. The first two singles from the album - at least in Sweden - were Dressed For Success and Listen To Your Heart, which found success among their home country's audience. Success for Roxette came through the United States, where the fourth single, The Look, became a hit. Thus, Europe and the rest of the world gave the appropriate attention to this album.

Look Sharp! reached the Top-10 in many countries, granting the Swedes global recognition. The album's global sales are estimated to be around 9,000,000 copies. Roxette never managed to replicate this triumph again.
