About the album The Soul Of Ike & Tina Turner
The Soul Of Ike & Tina Turner is the debut of a duo that unfortunately would remain in the music world not for their work, but for the abusive actions of Ike Turner against Tina Turner. The album was released in 1961 and contained twelve songs composed by Ike Turner except for I Had A Notion.
In The Soul Of Ike & Tina Turner, Tina Turner's voice has not yet matured, but it certainly overflows with passion. One of the best moments of the album is A Fool In Love, which was also the first single of the record, while another noteworthy song is I'm Jealous, with which the album begins.
The album reached No. 27 on the Billboard in October 1961.
