Porfiado by El Cuarteto de Nos
About the album Porfiado
The band El Cuarteto de Nos from Uruguay is one of the most historical groups in the country. The 2012 album Porfiado becomes the thirteenth studio release of the band. It is an album filled with alternative rock and pop/rock compositions, which primarily belong to the soul of the band, the musicologist, guitarist, and singer Roberto Musso, whose vocal prowess passes with distinct ease from conventional interpretation to rap interpretation (!)
Porfiado won the Latin Grammy for its year of release. The singles from the album were Cuando Sea Grande and Buen Día Benito. On the other hand, the album is filled with such beautiful pop/rock songs that almost all of them could become singles. The producer of the album was another legendary figure in Uruguayan pop/rock music, Juan Campodónico.
The album was very successful in Latin American countries. Notably, it went platinum in Uruguay, while in Argentina it reached No. 5 on the country's charts.
