About the album 4 Of A Kind

The D.R.I. (Dirty Rotten Imbeciles) recorded their fourth studio album in February and March 1988, titled 4 Of A Kind, and the pun becomes clear when you see the album cover, where the four members of the band are depicted as caricatures and as four playing cards corresponding to the Joker.

4 Of A Kind was released by Metal Blade Records and was produced by the band's guitarist, Spike Cassidy, and producer Bill Metoyer. Despite the fact that the D.R.I. are among the progenitors of the crossover thrash subgenre, there are many songs here that move within the framework of pure thrash metal. The song Suit And Tie Guy was the first D.R.I. song for which a video clip was made.

This particular album also had another first for the band: it was their first to enter the Top 200 in the U.S. as its sales brought it to position No. 116.
