About the album The Contino Sessions
The Londoners Death In Vegas released their second studio album at the end of 1999. The Contino Sessions is a blend of trip-hop, extreme electronic music, and rock elements. In the production of the album, we have Richard Fearless and Tim Holmes, two of the key members of the Death In Vegas lineup.
In The Contino Sessions, there were many guest appearances from other singers who agreed to contribute their experience and fame. Thus, Iggy Pop makes his appearance with his distinctive voice on Aisha, the second single of the album, Bobby Gillespie of Primal Scream lends his voice on Soul Auctioneer, Jim Reid of Jesus And Mary Chain can be heard on Broken Little Sister. There's also the rumor that Aladdin's Story is a composition by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (!)
The album's success was satisfactory in the United Kingdom as it reached No. 19 on its charts and its sales there reached 100,000 copies.
