Cage The Elephant were founded in Kentucky, USA, but moved to London. Thank You, Happy Birthday was their second recording attempt.
The story of this second album began in 2009, but it took two years to be released, after the band first rejected the initial songs they had written and started the whole thing from scratch.
In the USA, the album sold 500,000 copies.
