About the album Heaven On Earth
In 1987, Belinda Carlisle recorded and released her second solo album titled Heaven On Earth, a very well-crafted pop record. The album would bring the Go-Go's singer into the spotlight and grant her success and fame. Six out of the ten compositions of the album would be released as singles.
Here, Belinda Carlisle collaborates with several songwriters who know how to write pop hits, and she herself knows how to perform them. The album is produced by Rick Nowels, a producer who has worked with everyone from Madonna to Lana Del Rey and Dido.
Heaven On Earth was a notable pop album, which rightly reached No. 13 in the United States and No. 4 in Great Britain, while its success extended to many other countries around the world. Its sales reached around 2,300,000 copies globally, a number that is even three times greater than her most commercially successful hits compilation.
