About the album Affection
In 1989, following the success of the album by the English Coldcut thanks to the songs performed by the then 23-year-old Englishwoman Lisa Stanfield, Arista Records offered her to record her first solo album. Thus, in November 1989, Affection hit the market and made a splash.
The album would be supported by the single All Around The World, as well as four other singles. Lisa Stanfield's voice knows how to adorn the songs that she writes herself and with Ian Devaney and Andy Morris. The compositions are "drenched" in the soul and R&B of the '70s and early '80s, while also featuring house moments that give the album Affection the modern breath of that era.
Affection went on to sell 5,000,000 copies worldwide. It was a revelation in pop music at the end of the '80s, which left many promises for the future.
