Yvonne Fair (October 21, 1942 – March 6, 1994) was an American soul and R&B singer. She was born as Flora Wilkins in Richmond, Virginia. She began her career as a backup singer for various artists and became known to the general public when she collaborated with James Brown in the early 1960s. In 1975, she released her most famous album, "The Bitch Is Black". The song "It Should Have Been Me" became her biggest hit and was included in many soul compilations. Unfortunately, Yvonne Fair passed away from pancreatic cancer at the age of 51. Her musical legacy continues to influence and inspire many artists in the soul music field.
