Velvet Underground & Nico

Group
The Velvet Underground & Nico was an avant-garde rock band formed in New York in 1964 by Lou Reed and John Cale. The band is known for its unique sound that blends art and rock music, as well as for its collaboration with the German artist Nico on their iconic album "The Velvet Underground & Nico" released in 1967. Although initially not a commercial success, this album is now considered a classic and has had a tremendous influence on the development of rock music and its alternative genres. The band was closely associated with the artist Andy Warhol, who designed the iconic banana cover for their album. The Velvet Underground, by combining experimental elements with deep and realistic lyrics, laid the foundation for the future alternative and punk music scene.
