Underworld is a British electronic band that was formed in 1980 in Cardiff, Wales. The founders and main members of the band are Karl Hyde and Rick Smith. They initially started as a band with new wave and synth-pop sounds, but gained global recognition in the 1990s with their turn to progressive house and techno. They are particularly known for the track "Born Slippy .NUXX," which became famous through the film "Trainspotting" in 1996. Underworld have made significant contributions to the electronic music scene with innovative productions and impressive live performances.
