The Triffids
Group
The Triffids were an Australian rock music band, formed in 1978 in Perth. The band became famous for their unique mix of elements from alternative rock and post-punk, with lyrical and dramatic themes combined with dreamy melodies. The main composer and voice of the Triffids was David McComb, whose lyrics often focused on themes of love, loss, and alienation. They became internationally known with the album "Born Sandy Devotional" in 1986, and the track "Wide Open Road" is considered one of their most significant creations. The band disbanded in 1989.
