The Cranberries
The Cranberries were an Irish rock band formed in 1989 in Limerick. Initially, it consisted of the brothers Noel (guitar) and Mike Hogan (bass), Fergal Lawler (drums), and Dolores O'Riordan (vocals and keyboards). The band became globally known in the 1990s with hits like "Linger," "Zombie," and "Dreams." Dolores's unique voice and their distinctive melodic sounds combined influences from alt-rock, post-punk, and folk, creating a distinctive musical style. Dolores O'Riordan also contributed to composing many of their songs, incorporating personal and social themes in the lyrics. The band ceased activity in 2003, reunited in 2009, but stopped permanently in 2019 following O'Riordan's death in 2018. The Cranberries left behind a timeless musical legacy.
