The Blow Monkeys are a British new wave band formed in 1981, led by the singer and songwriter Dr. Robert, known by his real name Bruce Robert Howard. Their music combines elements of pop, jazz, funk, and soul, and they became popular in the 1980s with hits like "Digging Your Scene" and "It Doesn't Have to Be This Way." The band disbanded in 1990 but reunited in 2007 and continued to release new music, maintaining political and social awareness in the themes of their songs.
