Group

The Stormtroopers of Death (S.O.D.) were one of the most influential acts in the history of heavy music, bridging the gap between thrash metal and hardcore punk. The band was formed in New York in 1985 by Scott Ian of Anthrax, along with Dan Lilker, Charlie Benante, and the explosive singer Billy Milano. With their iconic album Speak English or Die, S.O.D. established crossover thrash, combining blistering riffs, fast tempos, and provocative, often ironic lyrics. Despite their satirical and "politically incorrect" nature, their musical excellence influenced countless bands. Although they operated mainly as a side project, their legacy remains alive, serving as the ultimate reference point for the energy and aggression of the 80s underground scene.
