Sleep

Sleep is an American stoner/doom metal band known for its distinctive heavy and slow music. It was formed in 1990 in San Jose, California, and originally consisted of Al Cisneros (bass/vocals), Matt Pike (guitar), and Chris Hakius (drums). They became particularly popular in the metal scene during the '90s with the album "Holy Mountain" and the iconic "Dopesmoker," a one-hour long single track. Despite the band's initial breakup in 1998, Sleep reunited in 2009 and continued to perform and record new music, remaining one of the most influential bands in their genre.
