Simple Minds are a Scottish rock band formed in 1977 in Glasgow. It was founded by singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill. The band became widely known in the 1980s and is considered one of the most successful and pioneering bands of its genre. The album "New Gold Dream (81–82–83–84)" established them in the music industry, while global success came with the song "Don't You (Forget About Me)" which was included in the soundtrack of the film "The Breakfast Club". Their sound is a combination of post-punk, new wave, and anthemic rock. To this day, Simple Minds continue to perform live and record new music.
